HOW YOU CAN HELP

LET THE DEVELOPING WORLD CHANGE YOURS - Be part of a service teaM - COME TO GUATEMALA
Build a new home for a needy family. No experience necessary. This experience will really take you out of your comfort zone. You will learn that you can do anything you set your mind to. The experience will also rejuvenated in you the thought that the only reason that you are on this Earth is to make a positive difference in someone else's life. We ask that you donate $500.00 per person plus pay for your own airfare and living expense. You are welcomed to volunteer with us for any length of time if you donate this amount. If there are 6 volunteers who donate $500.00 each, a plaque will be placed on the home honoring those 6 volunteers. Spanish school students in Guatemala are asked to donate $300.00 or more according to their means.

Donate
In addition to building homes, funds are put toward purchasing stoves, health care needs, food, or the sponsorship of a child's education.
You can specify how you would like your funds to be used.

$1,750: Materials to build a home with a bunk bed with mattresses, pillows, sheets & blankets. A plaque will be placed on the home honoring the donor.
$150: Buy a stove. We use ONIL stoves from Helps International.

$30 per month: Food for a family.
$60 per month: Sponsor a child's education. Two individual donors can sponsor one child for $30.00 each per month. We will send you a photograph of the student, and a quarterly report of how “your” student is doing.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW LAPTOP COMPUTERS
Laptops would be used first by the teachers and then the students, depending upon the number received. New laptops cost around $350.00-$500.00

For those who are looking for a real Gap Year experience in Guatemala equal to none
Please contact us directly at info@fromhousestohomes.org.
We will arrange everything for you and the $500.00 you donate will go direclty to helping the poor of Guatemala. The only additional fee you will need to pay other than your airfare would be your lodging with a Guatemalan host family, which usually costs about $12.00 per person, per day, including meals.

I am only one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. ~Edward Everett Hale

When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her.
It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed. -Mother Teresa
